'Dosti Ka Natak': BJP Takes Swipe At I.N.D.I.A Bloc After JD(U) Fields Candidates In MP

BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi took a dig at at the Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A. bloc saying that they were doing 'drama of friendship' after JD(U) fielded candidates in MP.

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday took a swipe at the Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A bloc after one of its key allies, Janata Dal (United) announced its list of five candidates who would contest the upcoming assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh.

"There is a 'natak' (drama) of friendship (between INDIA alliance partners) in Delhi, while there is a 'bhangra of kushti' between them in states," said BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in a dig at the Opposition’s Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A.)

On Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party announced a list of five candidates who have been fielded from the following constituencies: Chandra Pal Yadav (Pichhor), Ram Kunwar Raikwar (Rajnagar), Shiv Narayan Soni (Vijay Raghavgarh), Tol Singh Bhuria (Thandla) and Rameshwar Singla (Petalawad).

With this, the JD(U) has become the third non-Congress ally which has entered the poll fray in MP after Samajwadi Party and Aam Aadmi Party announced their intent to contest the elections for 230-member Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

The polls will be held in the central state on November 17 and the votes will be counted on December 3 along with Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Mizoram.

Earlier, the Samajwadi Party came up with a list of 45 candidates to contest the polls in MP even as party chief Akhilesh Yadav last week indicated a willingness to talk with the Congress after hitting out at its leader for betraying him.

Earlier last week, the SP supremo said that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc was only at the national level days after asking the Congress to clarify whether the tie-up was also at the state level.
