NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh heading towards a photo finish in 2018 assembly elections as per trends available in all the 230 constituencies. The Opposition Congress is leading in 109 seats, a far improved performance over the 58 seats it has in the outgoing House, while BJP was ahead in 111 seats. The BSP, independent candidates and other smaller parties will hold the key to power in case the state throws up a hung assembly. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) was leading in four seats while the Gondvana Gantantra Party was ahead in one. Independents were leading in three seats while the Samajwadi Party seat and the Bahujan Sanghrush Dal were leading in one seat each. Acting on the see-saw battle in Madhya Pradesh, BSP chief Mayawati has called her party's winning/leading candidates to Delhi fearing horse-trading. According to sources, Mayawati has announced that she won't support the BJP in case elections throw up a split verdict. Meanwhile, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has said he will support the Congress.
