'PM Modi Known As Messiah Of Poor': Amit Shah Addresses BJP Workers At 'Vijay Sankalp Sammelan' In Indore

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed 50,000 BJP workers at Indore ahead of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday addressed 50,000 BJP workers at the 'Vijay Sankalp Sammelan' in Indore in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh. He spoke to the booth-level BJP workers at the event.

Sounding the poll bugle in Madhya Pradesh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah thanked the people for voting BJP to power in 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and said Sunday’s rally was the beginning of the party’s campaign for the state elections scheduled later this year.

Taking a dig at the previous UPA government, the union minister said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has protected the country. During the UPA government, people came from Pakistan and carried out blasts in India. The Central government back then did nothing. Now, Pakistan attacked Uri and Pulwama but they forgot that it’s no longer the UPA government at the Centre.”

Taking further potshots at Congress, Amit Shah said, "Kamal Nath-led government did away with more than 51 schemes which were started by Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led government earlier. Today PM Modi is known as 'messiah of the poor' due to welfare work done for them."

Earlier, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya had informed that Shah will visit the birthplace of Lord Parshuram at Janapav Kuti, about 50 km from the city during the visit.

MP BJP media department co-in-charge Dipak Jain 'Tinnu' said that “During his visit to Indore, Shah will address a meeting of at least 25,000 workers who have been given different responsibilities in the region”.

At the Indore gathering, BJP workers will also take a pledge to mobilise voters at the booth-level with full vigour to ensure the party retains power with a two-thirds majority in the assembly elections, Gupta said, as reported by PTI.

In the 2018 Assembly election, the Congress formed a government in Madhya Pradesh under Kamal Nath but it collapsed in March 2020 because of the rebellion by MLAs loyal to Jyotiraditya Scindia, paving the way for the BJP to return to power under Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
