The Lok Sabha election 2024 journey advances as the third phase of voting is slated for May 7. In this phase, voters from 94 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across 12 states and Union Territories (UTs) will vote to lock the fate of 1,352 candidates. LS Polls Phase 3 Voting: Voting Date And Time

The polling schedule for phase 3  is set to commence at 7 AM and conclude at 5 PM. However, the voting date for the Anantnag-Rajouri Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir has been rescheduled to May 25 due to logistical and connectivity issues, with the vote count slated for June 4. 

What’s Closed, What’s Open On May 7 

For ensuring smooth polling operations, schools and colleges in the constituencies will remain closed on the polling day. This measure is a routine practice aimed at facilitating the movement of election officials and voters.

Voting On Betul Seat 

Last month, the Election Commission of India (ECI) postponed the polling for the ongoing general elections in Madhya Pradesh’s Betul following the death of a BSP candidate from the constituency. The polling in Betul will take place on May 7. 

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: All About Phase 3 Voting 

A total of 1,351 candidates from the aforementioned states and UTs are gearing up for the electoral battle in phase 3 of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. This figure encompasses 8 candidates for the adjourned poll in the 29-Betul (ST) PC of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, one candidate from the Surat parliamentary constituency had secured an uncontested victory. 

The election process witnessed an intense phase of nominations with 2,963 filed across 12 states and UTs. After scrutiny, 1,563 nominations were deemed valid, setting the stage for the upcoming electoral showdown.
