BJP Discusses Candidates On 25 Lok Sabha Seats Of UP. Brij Bhushan, Apna Dal (S) Likely To Get Tickets

The Bharatiya Janata Party held a meeting of its Uttar Pradesh core committee on Monday night to discuss candidates for the remaining 25 Lok Sabha seats of the state. Among the constituencies that were discussed included Barabanki, Mirzapur, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Prayagraj, Ghazipur, Kanpur, Ballia, Deoria, Raebareli, Mainpuri, Saharanpur, and Robertsganj. 

NDA ally and Anupriya Patel's Apna Dal (Sonelal) can be given their old Mirzapur and Robertsganj Lok Sabha seats for the polls, sources told ABP News. 

BJP MP from Barabanki, Upendra Rawat might be replaced with a new face. 

Embroiled in the wrestlers' protest, former Wrestling Federation of India chief and MP from Kaiserganj, Brij Bhushan Sharan is not expected to get a ticket again this time. Instead, his wife Ketaki Devi Singh or Karan Bhuhan Singh could be fielded from the Kaiserganj seat. 

For the ticket from Meerut seat, the race is between actor Arun Govil, poet Kumar Vishwas, and  Meerut Cantonment MLA Amit Agarwal. 

In Prayagraj, former bureaucrat Sanjay Mishra or former city Mayor Abhilasha Gupta, wife of UP minister Nand Gopal Nandi, is expected to be fielded by the saffron party. 

The discussion also took place for the Ghaziabad seat on the names of incumbent MP VK Singh, Anil Agarwal, or Anil Jain.

For the Ghazipur seat, Manoj Sinha's son Anibhav Sinha is being considered while the party mulled the candidature of Manoj Pandey from Raebareli. 

Ramapati Ram Tripathi could be given another chance from Deoria. One amongst Neeraj Shekhar and Anand Swaroop Shukla are expected to be fielded by the BJP from Ballia. 

MP Satyadev Pachauri's daughter Neetu Singh along with Satish Mahana are being considered for the Kanpur seat. 

UP tourism minister Jaiveer Singh could get the party ticket to contest Lok Sabha polls from Mainpuri while in Saharanpur, deliberations are being made between former minister Suresh Rana and Raghav Lakhanpal.
