Punjab Lok Sabha Results: Congress Wins 7 Seats, AAP Secures 3. Jailed Amritpal, Son Of Indira Gandhi's Assassin Also Elected

Punjab Lok Sabha Results: The Congress has won seven seats, while the AAP secured three. The SAD managed a win in Bathinda while Amritpal Singh and Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa were also elected.

Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: The Congress has won seven seats in Punjab, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won three other constituencies, according to the Election Commission. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) won just one parliamentary constituency, with two independents, including radical preacher Amritpal Singh, also witnessing significant wins. 

Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi of the Congress Charanjit Singh Channi has won from Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat, defeating BJP candidate Sushil Kumar Rinku by a margin of 1,75,993 votes. Sitting MP Amar Singh of the Congress won Fatehgarh Sahib against AAP's Gurpreet Singh GP with a margin of 34,202.

In Gurdaspur, Congress's Sukhjinder Randhawa, a former Deputy Chief Minister, secured victory over BJP's Dinesh Singh Babbu by 82,861 votes.

In Amritsar, Congress candidate Gurjeet Singh Aujla won against BJP's Taranjit Singh Sandhu by 40,301 votes. 

Ludhiana sees Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring emerging victorious against BJP's Ravneet Singh Bittu with a margin of 20,942. In Ferozepur, Congress's Sher Singh Ghubaya won against AAP's Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar by 3,242 votes. Congress's Dharamvira Gandhi also won in Patiala against AAP's Balbir Singh by 14,831 votes.

AAP's Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer won Sangrur over SAD (Amritsar) candidate Simranjit Singh Mann and senior Congress leader Sukhpal Khaira with a margin of 1,72,560. AAP's Raj Kumar Chabbewal won in Hoshiarpur over Congress's Yamini Gomar by 44,111 votes, while Malvinder Singh Kang of AAP emerged victorious by 10,846 votes in Anandpur Sahib against Congress's Vijay Inder Singla.

SAD's Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a three-time MP, retained Bathinda by 49,656 votes against AAP's Gurmeet Singh Khuddian.

Lok Sabha Election Results 2024: Jailed Amritpal Singh Wins Khadoor Sahib, Son Of Indira Gandhi's Assassin Also Elected From Faridkot 

Independent candidate and radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh won from Khadoor Sahib by 1,97,120 votes over Congress's Kulbir Singh Zira. Amritpal Singh, the chief of the 'Waris Punjab De' outfit, is currently in Assam's Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act.

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, another independent, has been elected to Lok Sabha from Faridkot seat by 70,053 votes against AAP's Karamjit Singh Anmol. Khalsa is the son of one of the two assassins of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The counting of votes for the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab began at 8 am amid tight security arrangements and is still underway.

The detailed vote counts and results will continue to be updated as the counting progresses.
