'BJP Doors Not Open For Murderer Of Sikhs': Tajinder Bagga On Kamal Nath's Switch Buzz

Tajinder Bagga clarified that there would be no objection if Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath chose to join the BJP.

New Delhi: Amid speculations regarding the potential crossover of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath to the BJP camp, with rumours suggesting his son Nakul Nath may also follow suit, BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga refuted the claims, and asserted on Sunday that the “BJP's doors have never been and will not be open for Kamal Nath”.

However, Bagga clarified that there would be no objection if Kamal Nath's son Nakul Nath chose to join the BJP.

Taking to X, Bagga accused Kamal Nath over his alleged involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

“Many people have been calling me to ask about Kamal Nath. I have told them and I am saying it here that the doors of BJP were never open nor will they ever open for Kamal Nath, the murderer of Sikhs and the one who burnt the Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. I assure you all that this will never be possible in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Bagga posted in Hindi on X.

In a televised interview, Tajinder Bagga reinforced his stance stating that he has consulted with senior party leaders, and they have affirmed that the “BJP's doors are firmly closed for Kamal Nath”.

Bagga reiterated his opposition to Kamal Nath, citing the latter's alleged involvement in the 1984 riots.

"There exist numerous witnesses against Kamal Nath. He stands accused of orchestrating the burning of Rakabganj Gurudwara, a revered site built in memory of the 9th Guru Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji," Bagga said.

However, the veteran Congress leader, who arrived in Delhi amid the buzz over his “switchover”, said the media would be the first one to know if there’s any such development. "If there would be any such thing, I would inform you first,” news agency PTI quoted Kamal Nath as saying.
