BJP Substitute Karan Bhushan With His Father For Kaiserganj Seat
The BJP substituted Karan Bhushan Singh for Uttar Pradesh's Kaiserganj replacing his father and sitting MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Thursday, who faces criminal allegations of sexually harassing women wrestlers during his tenure as the chief of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
Karan is the president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association. He has also been a national-level shooter and holds a business management degree from an Australian university. His elder brother Prateek Bhushan Singh is an MLA.
The BJP's decision came a few days after a Delhi court rejected Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's request for an additional investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment that female wrestlers had made against him. The court is likely to pronounce its order on the framing of charges against the MP this month.
