Jharkhand Polls: Congress Releases Manifesto Day Before Polling, Promises Caste-Based Survey, Free Electricity
Congress released it manifesto for Jharkhand Assembly elections a day before the phase one polling. It was unveiled by the party's manifesto committee chairman Bandhu Tirkey.
Jharkhand Assembly Elections: Just a day ahead of the phase one polling, Congress released its manifesto for Jharkhand Assembly polls, promising caste based survey and 250 units of free electricity every month. It also includes filling up of all vacant government posts within a year.

The manifesto is based on the seven promises including the 1932 Khatiyan-based domicile policy and implementation of Sarna religious code of the tribals. It was unveiled by the party's manifesto committee chairman Bandhu Tirkey.
"The manifesto promises free electricity up to 250 units to poor as against 200 units at present. We will fill up all vacant government posts in a year," Tirkey said.
Tirkey said that the manifesto was made keep in mind the issues being faced by the people in the state, alleging that efforts were made to destabilise the state government.
"After the COVID times, efforts were made to destabilise this (state) government. But this coalition government moved forward and fulfilled its promises. There has been no lack of job opportunities. This government has appointed more people than the previous governments. All the job appointments are in the pipeline, and all of these will be completed after the formation of this government again," he said.
The Congress leader said that the manifesto was formed keeping in mind the interests of the tribals in Jharkhand. "The Manifesto Committee held a Chaupal in every district and interacted with the public. We made every effort to ensure that our manifesto is for the common people."
Jharkhand CEO Reacts To Congress Releasing Manifesto Day Before Polls
On Congress releasing manifesto, K Ravi Kumar, Chief Election Officer of Jharkhand, said that no-election related matters can be done during the silent period.
"We must inform you that according to the legal provisions, no election-related matters can occur during the silent period. This is a matter clearly stated in the law, and the Commission has also issued instructions regarding this," he said.

The first phase of polling will be held on November 13 for 43 of the total 81 seats of the state. The next phase will be held on November 20, and the counting of votes will be held on November 23.
