Is AAP's Gamble To Move Manish Sisodia To Jangpura Paying Off? First Hour Of Vote Counting Shows THIS

In the previous Delhi Assembly polls in 2020, the Jangpura seat was won by Aam Aadmi Party candidate Praveen Kumar, who defeated BJP's Impreet Singh Bakshi, and Congress leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah.

Jangpura Election Result: After one hour of vote counting for the Delhi elections by the Election Commission of India, the BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah is leading ahead of AAP's Manish Sisodia. The former Delhi Deputy CM has been trailing since the counting began at 8 AM on Saturday. 

Jangpura Assembly constituency is among the 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi that went to polls on February 5. It is a general category assembly seat in the South East district. The seat is witnessing a triangular contest between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and the Congress.

The counting of votes began at 8 AM and the result for Jangpura will also be declared today along with the other 70 constituencies in Delhi. 

Key candidates in Jangpura Assembly constituency include senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah, and Congress' pick Farhad Suri. The AAP made a gamble by moving Manish Sisodia from Patparganj to Jangpura.

In the previous Delhi Assembly elections in 2020, the Jangpura seat was won by Aam Aadmi Party candidate Praveen Kumar, who defeated Bharatiya Janata Party's Impreet Singh Bakshi, and former Indian National Congress leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah. 

This year, Tarvinder Singh Marwah competed for the Jangpura seat, but on a BJP ticket. He had switched from Congress to BJP on July 6, 2022. AAP has also replaced its candidate with Manish Sisodia.

Jangpura Assembly Constuituency 2015 Results

In the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP candidate Praveen Kumar emerged victorious, securing 43,927 votes. He defeated BJP's Maninder Singh Dhir and former Congress leader Tarvinder Singh Marwah.
