Jairam Ramesh Attacks EC On Final Voter Turnout For Phase 1 & 2, Says 'Only Estimated Figures Available'
Jairam Ramesh said it was the first time when the Election Commission has not released the voter percentage even 11 days after the first phase of voting.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday attacked the Election Commission for allegedly not releasing the final voter percentage of Phase 1 and 2 polling for the Lok Sabha Elections.
Jairam Ramesh said that this is the first time when the poll body has not released the voter percentage even 11 days after the first phase of voting.
"This is the first time that even after 11 days of the first phase of polling and four days after the second phase, the Election Commission has not released the final data of voting percentage. Earlier, the Election Commission used to release the final data of voting percentage immediately after the polling or within 24 hours," Jairam Ramesh said in a post on X.

The Congress leader questioned the delay and said that only estimated figures are available on the Election Commission's website.
He also said that the total number of registered voters in Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies is not available.
"The number of voters registered in each Lok Sabha constituency and the assembly constituencies are not available on the EC's website. Right now only booth-wise voting lists of a selected state are visible," he added.
He further added that it is necessary for the Election Commission to release all election-related data in a timely and transparent manner.
As per the EC's website, the voter turnout for the first phase and second phase in the Lok Sabha elections were over 60% and 60.96% respectively.
