Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar said that CM Eknath Shinde may resign today as the Maharashtra Assembly term ends. The new Maharashtra CM is likely to be announced by this weekend.
Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar on Tuesday said that Eknath Shinde is likely to resign after the current assembly term ends today. He said that Shinde will be asked to continue as the caretaker CM of Maharashtra till the new CM takes oath. Narvekar's statement comes amid the suspense and parleys underway in Maharashtra and Delhi over the top state government post.
"Today the term of the assembly is ending. If he (CM Shinde) resigns today, he will be requested to work as a caretaker CM till a new government is formed. The leaders of the three parties, our parliamentary board, will decide on this (CM) matter. And soon the government will be formed in Maharashtra,"

When Will New Maharashtra CM Be Announced?
Sanjay Pandurang Shirsat, Shiv Sena MLA (Eknath Shinde group), said that the new CM will be announced by Saturday, November 30. He also said that the Maharashtra Cabinet will undergo a major rejig this time and there will be several new faces in the ministry.
