Bypoll Results ‘Strong Evidence Of PM Modi’s Falling Political Credibility’: INDIA Bloc Rejoices Its Wins

In by-election results, the INDIA bloc emerged victorious in 10 out of 13 seats. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi hailed the results as a rejection of dictatorship and a mandate for justice.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took aim at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) following the recent by-election results, declaring that the outcome reflects the public's desire to dismantle dictatorship and support the INDIA bloc for the establishment of justice. The INDIA bloc parties secured victory in 10 assembly seats, while the BJP won two and an Independent candidate clinched one seat. The votes were counted on Saturday after by-elections were held this week for 13 seats across seven states.

Taking to his official X handle, Rahul Gandhi stated, "The results of the bye-elections in seven states have made it clear that the web of fear and confusion woven by the BJP has been broken." He added, "Every class, including farmers, youth, labourers, businessmen, and employed people want to completely destroy dictatorship and establish the rule of justice."

Congress leaders celebrated the decisive win of the INDIA bloc in the assembly by-elections, attributing the BJP's poor performance to its "arrogance, misgovernance, and negative politics." Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge asserted that the bypoll results are "strong evidence of the falling political credibility" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

"The public is now completely standing with INDIA for the betterment of their lives and protection of the Constitution," Kharge said.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee also noted a trend in favour of INDIA bloc as she said, "The trend is very clear, it is not in favour of the NDA, it is in favour of INDIA. Collectively, the NDA received 46 per cent votes, while INDIA constituents got 51 per cent vote share in the bypolls held in the 13 seats."

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed joy and congratulated all winning candidates of the Congress party and the INDIA bloc. "The people of the country have extended their support to the INDIA alliance in the by-elections held on 13 seats in seven states. The people of Himachal Pradesh have expressed their faith in Congress. Many congratulations to all the winning candidates of Congress and INDIA alliance," she stated, as quoted by ANI.

Highlighting the Congress party's commitment to the needs and aspirations of the youth, she remarked, "The people of the country have understood that politics that misleads people 100 years ago and 100 years ahead will not do any good to the country. The people want positive politics that improves the present and prepares a clear blueprint for a bright future. We are committed to the needs and aspirations of young India."

INDIA Bloc Wins 10 Out Of 13 Seats In Bypolls

The INDIA bloc's constituents triumphed in 10 of the 13 assembly seats where by-elections were held across seven states, while the BJP secured two seats, and an Independent candidate won one seat. The Congress won four seats—two in BJP-ruled Uttarakhand and two in Himachal Pradesh. The TMC captured all four seats in West Bengal, the AAP won the Jalandhar West seat in Punjab, and the DMK emerged victorious in the Vikravandi constituency in Tamil Nadu. The BJP won the Hamirpur seat in Himachal Pradesh, and Independent candidate Shankar Singh secured the Rupauli seat in Bihar. Voting took place on July 10.

Congress also won the Nalaghar seat in Himachal, while BJP managed to secure Hamirpur.

Reacting to the development, senior Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said, "We have won two by-elections in Himachal out of three. Now congress's strength is back to 40 again in a house of 68. It will provide stability to our government."

Himachal CM Sukhu also hailed the Congress' performance in state by-polls and said, "The people of Himachal have defeated money power by supporting people power and have given a befitting reply to the political conspiracy of BJP... This is the victory of the people. I express my gratitude to the God-like people of Devbhoomi."

Congress' Srinivas BV took a swipe at BJP's performance in Badrinath and said, "BJP first lost Ayodhya, and then. Now Congress wins in Badrinath."

"The message from above is clear!! The shop of the contractors of religion will not run anymore," he said in a post on X.

On AAP winning the Jalandhar West Assembly seat, party MP Sandeep Pathak said, "The AAP MP who won the seat previously, joined BJP. The AAP MLA who won the seat also joined the BJP. I feel sorry for both of them... People felt betrayed by their decision, so they gave a befitting reply... This also proves the trust of the people of Punjab in CM Bhagwant Mann and his governance... BJP can keep Arvind Kejriwal in jail but they don't know his roots run deep. He cannot be easily defeated... BJP's main focus is on poaching leaders from other parties and sending them to jails. They are not focussed on their work."
