Assembly Election 2022 HIGHLIGHTS: Hello and welcome to ABP Live blog to find all the latest news from the polling battleground of Manipur.

Voting for the second phase of the Manipur assembly election 2022 is all set to begin from 7 am. The polling will culminate at 4 pm. Polling in phase 2 of Manipur Assembly Elections 2022 will be held in 22 assembly constituencies of six districts.

The election officials have informed that arrangements including webcasting, videography and COVID-19 guidelines for safe elections have been made in all polling stations. A sufficient number of paramilitary personnel have been deployed at each polling station.

Manipur Election 2022: Polling For Second Phase To Be Conducted On March 5 — Here's List Of Assembly Constituencies

As many as 92 candidates, including two women, are in the fray for the second phase to be held across 22 constituencies. Over 8.3 lakh voters — 4,18,401 males, 4,28,968 females, and 31 transgender people — are expected to exercise their franchise.

Of the total candidates, 22 are of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), 18 of INC, 10 each of Janata Dal-United (JD-U) and Naga People’s Front (NPF), 11 of National People’s Party (NPP), two each of Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), three of Republican Party of India-Athawale (RPI-A), one each of Rashtriya Janhit Sangharsh Party (RJSP) and CPI, and 12 independent candidates.

Voting will be conducted in a total of 1,247 polling stations, including six auxiliary polling stations, across the six electoral districts. Of the six auxiliary polling stations, four are in Thoubal and another two in Churachandpur.
