Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar will arrive in Delhi on Tuesday after cancelling his visit to the national capital on Monday.
Amid deepening suspense over who will be Karnataka Chief Minister, the state Congress president DK Shivakumar is set to go to Delhi on Tuesday, a day after he cancelled his visit to the national capital. Shivakumar had said he is suffering from a stomach infection and hence would not be joining MLAs and others in Delhi on Monday. The 61-year-old leader was expected to reach Delhi on Monday evening, but he said he would not be travelling as he had a stomach infection.

- DK Shivakumar is to arrive in Delhi on Tuesday after cancelling his visit on Monday citing a stomach infection. Speaking to reporters, Shivakumar, one of the contenders for the Chief Minister's post, said, "I have a stomach infection and will not be travelling to Delhi today. There are 135 Congress MLAs. I don't have any MLAs. I've left the decision to the party high command."
- Late Monday night, Shivakumar's brother and Congress MP DK Suresh told reporters that the state party chief would arrive in Delhi on Tuesday. "Yes, he will be coming tomorrow," DK Suresh said in response to a question from reporters.
- Senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah arrived in Delhi on Monday to meet AICC leadership.
- The central observers of Congress for Karnataka have submitted their report to party president Mallikarjun Kharge.

- On his Delhi visit, he said on Monday, "It's my birthday today, I'll meet my family. Afterward, I'll leave for Delhi. Under my leadership, we've 135 MLAs, all in one voice said-matter (to appoint CM) is to be left to the party high command. My aim was to deliver Karnataka & I did it. I assured Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Kharge that my only aim is to deliver Karnataka."
- On the party touching the majority mark, Shivakumar said, "I believe in one thing – a single man with courage makes a majority. I’ve proved it. I don’t want to disclose what all has happened in the last five years. I’ll disclose it in future."
- On Monday, the 135 legislators unanimously decided to authorise party president Mallikarjun Kharge to decide on the name for the next Karnataka CM, after the resolution was tabled by Siddaramaiah and agreed upon by Shivakumar.
- After the passing of the resolution, the three observers appointed by Kharge, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Jitendra Singh, and Deepak Babaria took individual opinions of the legislators and submitted a report on the same to the party high command in New Delhi.
