Delhi Elections: AAP Replaces Candidates From Narela And Hari Nagar. Details Here

In Narela, AAP had earlier named Dinesh Bhardwaj from the seat. Sharad Chauhan, who was the sitting MLA from the seat, has been renominated in the fresh list.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday released a new list of candidates, revising the nominees from Narela and Hari Nagar weeks ahead of the February polls. Sharad Chauhan was fielded from Narela and Surinder Setia from Hari Nagar.

The changes came around a month after Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP announced its candidates for all 70 assembly seats in Delhi. The AAP shared the revised list of candidates from its X handle.

In Narela, AAP had earlier named Dinesh Bhardwaj from the seat. Sharad Chauhan, who was the sitting MLA from the seat, has been renominated in the fresh list.

Chauhan, a two-time MLA, was dropped in the party's initial list while Bhardwaj was named in the list announced in December last year. Meanwhile, in Hari Nagar, Surinder Setia has replaced the sitting MLA Raj Kumari Dhillon.

Sources in the party claimed that the candidates were changed based on the ground reports from Narela and Hari Nagar seats, according to news agency PTI.

Delhi goes to polls on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The AAP, which won 62 of the 70 seats in Delhi in the 2020 elections, is eyeing a third consecutive full term.
