'World Is Watching What ECI Is Doing': Congress MP Kumari Selja Questions 'Stuck' Trends

The Congress MP termed it as "surprising" and asked ECI as to why they can't see the latest trends. Kumari further claimed that "something was going on."

Haryana Assembly Election 2024: Congress MP Kumari Selja on Tuesday raised questioned on the "stuck numbers" in trends suggested by the Eelections Commission Of India (ECI). Kumari Selja said that the whole country and the world is seeing what the ECI is doing. She claimed that the trends are stuck and not progressing.

The Congress MP termed it as "surprising" and asked ECI as to why they can't see the latest trends. Kumari further claimed that "something was going on."

Earlier, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh questioned the slow updates on the Election Commission website during the counting of votes for Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

The Congress leader said that they have information that there are about 9-10 seats where 11-12 rounds of counting has been completed, however, the EC website and (TV) channels are showing trends available after only 4-5 rounds of counting.

"A kind of psychological games, mind games are being played. The Election Commission (EC) is a constitutional body, and it should not come under any pressure. I have written a letter to EC... when trends of 12 rounds of counting are available then why are you not uploading on the website?  People of Haryana want a change and the mandate will be in favour of the Congress," Congress leader Jairam Ramesh claimed

"Like the Lok Sabha elections, in Haryana, we are again witnessing slowing down of uploading up-to- date trends on the ECI website. Is the BJP trying to build pressure on administration by sharing outdated and misleading trends @ECISVEEP?" He said in a post on X.
