CM Arvind Kejriwal Replies To BJP's Demand For Proof Of 'Operation Lotus' Ahead Of Delhi Trust Vote. WATCH

Arvind Kejriwal had earlier accused the BJP of trying to poach the Aam Aadmi Party's MLAs with offers of election tickets and Rs 25 crore.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said that his government sought the trust vote in Delhi Assembly because BJP was unleashing 'Operation Lotus 2.0'. He also hit out at the BJP's demand to furnish proof of his claim.

"Two MLAs told me that the BJP had offered them Rs 25 crore and tickets from the saffron party to topple the Delhi government. They said that the BJP had told them 21 other MLAs were in touch with the saffron party. When we investigated, we found that seven MLAs had been approached. They have narrated their stories in the Delhi Assembly today," CM Kejriwal said. "The BJP demands proof of these claims. What possible proof could you want? The BJP approaches our leaders through friends and family. They even offer to fix meetings with [Union Home Minister] Amit Shah Does everyone roam with tape recorders that they would start recording as soon as someone approaches," Kejriwal asked.

Arvind Kejriwal had earlier accused the BJP of trying to poach the Aam Aadmi Party's MLAs with offers of election tickets and Rs 25 crore. AAP leader Atishi said that the BJP had set in motion 'Operation Lotus 2.0'. Operation Lotus is often alleged by Opposition parties as the 'poaching tactic' of the BJP.

Kejriwal, while levelling the allegations last month, had said that in the last nine years, the BJP had conspired multiple times to topple the AAP-led government in Delhi with little success. "God and the people always supported us. All our MLAs stand strong together. This time also these people [BJP] will fail in their nefarious intentions," he said.
