Ahead Of Polls, Chhattisgarh BJP Revokes Suspension, Expulsion Of 43 Members

Among the reinstated individuals are those who faced disciplinary actions for running as independent candidates in municipal corporation, municipality, and nagar panchayat elections since 2018.

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Chhattisgarh president Arun Sao, following the recommendation of the party's state disciplinary committee, has lifted the suspension and expulsion of 43 leaders and workers. The move comes right before the Chhattisgarh Assembly election, scheduled to be held in two phases next month. Among the reinstated individuals are those who faced disciplinary actions for running as independent candidates in municipal corporation, municipality, and nagar panchayat elections since 2018.

The discontent among party members, who opted to contest elections independently after being denied tickets by the BJP, resulted in their suspension and expulsion post the polls. Having distanced themselves from party activities since then, these individuals are now welcomed back into the fold in view of the upcoming assembly elections.
