Bypoll Election Result: Complete List Of Winners Across 48 Assembly Seats, 2 Lok Sabha Constituencies
The BJP and its allies Asom Gana Parishad and the United Peoples' Party Liberal have almost swept bypolls in Assam. Whereas, electors gave the thumbs up to Congress nominees in South India.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced polls for 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats, but counting occurred in only 46 assembly constituencies as two seats in Sikkim were uncontested.
In Sikkim, the Soreng-Chakhung and Namchi-Singhithang seats were won unopposed by Aditya Golay (Tamang) and Satish Chandra Rai of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM).
In Rajasthan, the BJP secured five out of seven assembly seats in the bypolls, while the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) claimed one seat and the Congress was on track to win another, according to the ECI.
In Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made gains by winning the Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, and Chabbewal assembly seats, while the Congress secured the Barnala constituency in the by-elections.
Meanwhile, in Assam, the BJP and its allies, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the United Peoples' Party Liberal (UPPL), dominated the by-elections, winning four of the five assembly constituencies and leading in the fifth.
