Ayodhya MP's Crying Video Goes Viral As Son Trails In Milkipur Bypolls — Watch

In the 2022 Assembly elections, SP’s Awadhesh Prasad defeated BJP’s sitting MLA, Gorakhnath, in Milkipur.

Milkipur Bypoll Results: A video of Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad breaking down on camera has gone viral amid the counting of votes in Milkipur, where bypolls were held on February 5. Awadhesh Prasad's son Ajit Prasad was trailing behind BJP leader Chandrabhanu Paswan with over 11,000 votes in the seat, which is part of politically significant Ayodhya district.

In the 2022 Assembly elections, SP’s Awadhesh Prasad defeated BJP’s sitting MLA, Gorakhnath, in Milkipur. Awadhesh Prasad vacated the Milkipur Assembly seat, necessitating the current by-poll.

As the trends showed the Samajwadi Party leader trailing in the bypolls, videos of an emotional Awadhesh Prasad surfaced.

The video was recorded when Awadhesh Prasad broke into tears and was inconsolable during a press conference after a 22-year-old Dalit woman was found dead in a desolate canal near her village in Ayodhya few days ago.

Prasad, MP from the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat that houses Ayodhya, said he will resign as a Member of Parliament. "Let me to go Delhi, to Lok Sabha. I will keep the matter in front of (PM) Modi and if we don't get justice, then I will resign," he said as others present there tried to console him.
