Rahul Gandhi Will Have To Launch 'Congress Dhundo Yatra' After June 4: Amit Shah Says In Karnal's Rally

Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the "prince" of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, who previously led the "Bharat Jodo Yatra," would now need to launch a "Congress Dhundo Yatra" after June 4.

Addressing a rally in Haryana's Karnal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday that Rahul Gandhi would need to embark on a "Congress Dhundo Yatra" after June 4 as the party would struggle to secure even 40 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking in support of the BJP candidate from Hissar, Ranjit Singh Chautala, Amit Shah claimed that after four phases of voting, the BJP, led by PM Narendra Modi, had already secured a majority with over 270 seats and predicted that the party would exceed 400 seats by the end of the elections.

Shah remarked that the "prince" of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, who previously led the "Bharat Jodo Yatra," would now need to launch a "Congress Dhundo Yatra" as the party would be scarcely visible after June 4, the date for announcing the election results.

He said Modi's "Vikas ka Kamal" is growing everywhere in Haryana.

For the voters, he said, there is the Congress, under whose leadership scams totaling Rs 12 lakh crore occurred, and there is also Modi, who was Gujarat's chief minister for years before any charges of corruption involving even "25 paise" could be brought against him.

On one hand, there is "Rahul Baba", who was born with a silver spoon, and on the other hand, there is PM Modi who was born in a poor family, Shah highlighted. He said Gandhi left India for "Thailand and Bangkok" when the weather got hotter. "Remember my words, the (poll) results will be declared on June 4 and Rahul Baba will head for a vacation on June 6," he stated.

The senior BJP leader also added that Modi has worked without a single off day for more than two decades, including when he was the chief minister of Gujarat. "You have to decide between the two," he told.

Shah Crticises Previous Congress-Led Govt At Centre

Lashing out at the previous Congress-led government at the Centre, he said, "Aliya, Maliya, Jamaliya from Pakistan used to enter India every day, carry out bomb blasts, and (then prime minister) Manmohan Singh never used to utter a word." Ever since the Modi government came into power, it carried out surgical airstrikes and eliminated terrorists in Pakistan in reply to the Uri and Pulwama terror attacks, he said.

The Congress, having lost elections in the past, is now trying to win on the basis of lies, Shah said, criticising the establishment party for its assertion that the BJP would abolish reservation if it were to win 400 Lok Sabha seats. "The Congress has given reservation to Muslims. You give us 400 seats, the BJP will end this unconstitutional reservation," he said.

Shah took aim at Rahul Gandhi, stating that the former head of the Congress had declared that the I.N.D.I.A opposition bloc will reinstate the "triple talaq" immediately if it comes into power. He also asserted that the Modi government has ended terrorism and Naxalism in the country.

Shah mentioned the ways in which Haryana has helped the country—by providing for its food needs, sending soldiers to guard the borders, and producing athletes who win medals—and said that the state has advanced the country in each of these three areas.

Criticising Congress, he charged that it was behind the "helicopter scam, the Bofors scam, and thousands of crores of rupees worth of scams." During its reign, scams involving Commonwealth Games, rice, and fertilizer occurred. Agriculture, sports, and defense are the three industries that the Congress funded heavily."

Shah remarked that the Modi government has obtained foodgrains costing Rs 20 lakh crore at the minimum support price (MSP), the highest by any government since Independence.

He attempted to refute the opposition's assertion that there hasn't been any development in this area over the past ten years, pointing out that Haryana has experienced an 8 percent increase in GDP during this time, making it one of the states that has developed the fastest. "Haryana collects the maximum GST (Goods and Services Tax) per capita and is at the top in ease of doing business," he said.

Shah highlighted that every second car in the country is manufactured in Haryana.
