Amit Shah Doctored Video: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday slammed the Congress for allegedly spreading a doctored video where the BJP leader is portrayed as delivering an anti-OBC and anti-SC/ST speech. "They have stooped in their frustration to such a level that now they are spreading a fake video of mine and a few other BJP leaders to mislead the people. I want to clarify that the BJP is always in favour of OBC and SC/ST communities," he said addressing a press conference in Assam's Guwahati.
Amit Shah was referring to a doctored video where his speech had been edited to portray him as saying: "If BJP comes to power, it will end the unconstitutional SC, ST, and OBC reservation.” The clip was doctored from a 2023 speech in Telangana where he said that the BJP would scrap the "unconstitutional reservation of Muslims"
On Monday, the Assam Police had arrested a suspect for his alleged involvement in making the fake video.

Earlier on Sunday, Amit Shah at a poll rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj said, “Rahul baba is spreading lies in the name of backward classes. He says that if BJP wins 400 seats, BJP will remove reservations in the country. He doesn't understand, that we had two full terms with an absolute majority to remove reservation, but Narendra Modi is a supporter of reservation. Today I will give you a Modi Guarantee that the SC, ST, and OBC reservation will neither be removed by the BJP nor will we let anyone else do that.”
On Tuesday, Amit Shah said the Congress should not fight elections on the basis of fake videos and lies. He also said that the Congress was misconstruing the BJP manifesto. "Since Rahul Gandhi took over the reins of Congress, he has only taken the level of politics down."
Responding to a question on Rahul Gandhi's "X-ray" remark, Amit Shah said: "He can say anything, but the people will not give him the chance to do anything." Rahul Gandhi had earlier said that if Congress comes to power, an "X-ray of caste inequality" will done.
