8 Back-To-Back AAP Resignations Ahead Of Delhi Elections, All Were Denied Tickets
AAP MLAs Quit: The eight MLAs who quit the party include: Bhavna Gaur from Palam seat, Naresh Yadav from Mehrauli, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar and Rohit Mehrauliya from Trilokpuri.

In a major setback to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), eight MLAs have resigned. The eight sitting MLAs were excluded from the AAP's candidates list for the 70 assembly constituencies in the national capital.
The eight MLAs who quit the party include: Bhavna Gaur from Palam seat, Naresh Yadav from Mehrauli, Rajesh Rishi from Janakpuri, Madan Lal from Kasturba Nagar, Rohit Mehrauliya from Trilokpuri, Bhupinder Singh Joon June from Bijwasan, Pawan Sharma from Adarsh Nagar, and Girish Soni from Madipur.
In the Palam seat, AAP had named Joginder Solanki from the seat, while sitting MLA Bhavna Gaur was excluded from the list. Similarly, in Mehrauli, the party named Mahender Chaudhary instead of Naresh Yadav from the seat.
Naresh Yadav, in his resignation letter, said that the Aam Aadmi Party is no longer what it was founded for and added that the party has drifted from its core ideology.
In a letter addressed to party convenor Arvind Kejriwal, he said, "I dedicated my entire life to politics and worked under your leadership with utmost honesty and dedication. I made every effort to realize your vision and also contributed 100% to fulfilling the responsibilities given to me. However, today, the party has drifted from its core ideology, and good people who want to work honestly are being sidelined, while those involved in corrupt practices are being given a place in the organization."

"The Aam Aadmi Party is no longer what it was founded for. In such a situation, I no longer wish to be a part of the party. Hence, I resign from the primary membership of the party with immediate effect," Yadav added.
In Janakpuri, AAP named Praveen Kumar over Rajesh Rishi from the seat. Meanwhile in Kasturba Nagar, the party didn't name Madan Lal and named Ramesh Pahalwan from the seat. In the Trilokpuri seat, AAP had named Rohit Mehrauliya instead of sittling MLA Rohit Kumar.
Bhupinder Singh Joon, who was replaced from Bijwasan, said, "The voices of sincere workers and public representatives are often sidelined, and critical decisions are made without consultation or consensus. Moreover, the focus on self-promotion rather than addressing core public issues has become deeply disheartening."
Girish Soni, who was replaced with Rakhi Birla in Madipur, blamed several allegations against the party for his decision.
"The activities that have been going on in the Aam Aadmi Party for a long time, the issues which become a subject of criticism, such as 'Sheeshmahal'. Being disappointed by all these issues, today I am resigning from all the responsibilities and the primary membership of the Aam Aadmi Party," Soni shared on social media.
Similarly, Pawan Sharma was excluded from the Adarsh nagar seat as the party named Mukesh Goel. Delhi goes to polls on February 5 and the results will be announced on February 8. The AAP, which won 62 of the 70 seats in Delhi in the 2020 elections, is eyeing a third consecutive full term.
