'30 Lakh Vacant Govt Posts To Be Filled If Congress Voted To Power': Rahul Gandhi In Rajasthan's Banswara

Gandhi promised a legal guarantee on minimum support price for crops, social security for gig workers, and a Rs 5,000 crore fund for startups, among other things.

New Delhi: Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said 30 lakh vacant government posts will be filled and youths provided apprenticeships if his party is voted to power in the elections.

Addressing a rally in Rajasthan's Banswara as part of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Gandhi also promised a legal guarantee on minimum support price for crops to farmers, social security for gig workers, and a Rs 5,000 crore fund for startups.

"In our manifesto, we have done revolutionary work for farmers. For the first time in India, we have made a law to provide a legal guarantee of MSP for them. Farmers who are going to Delhi and being stopped, we have fulfilled their demands in our manifesto," Gandhi said at the Banswara rally.

"30 lakh vacant govt posts will be filled if Congress is voted to power," the Congress leader said. He also assured that a law would be enacted to curb government recruitment examination question paper leaks.

Attacking the BJP government, Gandhi claimed that the ruling party didn't invite President Draupadi Murmu to the Ram Temple inauguration ceremony because she comes from the Adivasi community.

"Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs and the Minorty constitute approx 90% of India's population. But, if we see the institutions and the budget, these people have no participation. The President is an Adivasi, and when the Ram Temple was inaugurated, did you see her face on television? No, because she is an Adivasi. Message was conveyed to her that you may be the President but you won't be allowed to enter the Ram temple... No poor, unemployed, farmer, or labourer was there at the inauguration. There are two India, one is of 5% and one is of the rest," he said.

The Congress’ manifesto committee on Wednesday handed over a copy of the draft manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls to party chief Mallikarjun Kharge at his residence in Delhi.
