UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024: Registration Deadline Extended Till March 6

As per the previous schedule, the UPSC CSE 2024 registration process was scheduled to conclude on March 5, 2024.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has extended the registration deadline for the UPSC CSE (Civil Services Examination) Prelims 2024 Exam till tomorrow, March 6, 2024. Interested candidates who are yet to apply for the exam can submit their registration cum application forms for the exam till 06:00 pm tomorrow, on the official website - upsc.gov.in. 

Earlier, as per the previous schedule, the registration process for the UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024 was scheduled to conclude today, March 5, 2024. However, the UPSC notified the extension of the registration deadline through an official notice on its website later today. “The last date for submission for CS(P)-IFoS(P)-2024 has been extended till 06-03-2024 (06:00 PM),” reads the official notice. 

While submitting applications for the exam, candidates will also be required to pay an application fee of Rs 100. However, SC, ST, Female, and PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the application fee. Once the application process concludes tomorrow, the UPSC will also allow registered candidates to make changes and edit their applications from March 6 to March 12, 2024. 

Candidates may note that the age limit to apply for the exam is between 21 to 32 years. However, candidates from the reserved categories though will be able to avail age relaxation as per government norms.

Through the CSE Examination 2024, the UPSC aims to fill around 1,046v officer level vacancies in various government departments.  The UPSC CSE exam will be held in two stages where registered candidates will be required to appear for the preliminary exam in the first stage. 

Those who clear the preliminary exam would be further called for the second stage which would consist of the Mains examination and Personal Interviews. For more details on the UPSC CSE Exam 2024, candidates are advised to visit the official website.

UPSC CSE 2024: Steps to Apply 

  • Visit the official website - upsc.gov.in
  • On the homepage, click on the ‘Apply Online’ button
  • Register online and login to the portal using your credentials
  • Select the application link for UPSC CSE 2024 and fill the application form
  • Upload relevant documents in the prescribed format
  • Pay the application fee online
  • Submit the application
  • Download the application confirmation page for future reference
