Schools In Delhi, Uttarakhand And Karnataka Closed Today Due To Heavy Rainfall

Schools Closed Today: The India Meteorological Department, IMD has advised people to remain indoors, secure windows and doors, and refrain from unnecessary travel.

Schools Closed Today: Schools in Delhi, Uttarakhand, and Karnataka are closed today, August 1, 2024, due to heavy rainfall. On July 31, 2024, Delhi Minister announced that both government and private schools in Delhi will be closed on August 1, 2024. Parts of New Delhi and NCR received heavy rains on Wednesday evening, which caused waterlogging and traffic congestion in the national capital. IMD has also issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall in Dakshin Kannada districts. Coastal Karnataka is expected to experience rainfall in the next 5 days.

Delhi Government Declares School Holiday

Delhi government has declared a holiday today. Delhi was put on a 'red' alert after the heavy downpour.  A 'red' warning calls for action and vigilance. Delhi Lt Governor, in a post on X, said he cautioned officers to remain alert in light of the heavy downpour in Delhi.

Schools Closed In Uttarakhand

In response to the IMD's forecast of 'isolated very heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand between July 31 and August 3,' the Uttarakhand government declared a holiday for schools. An orange alert has been issued in the state, and all schools, from classes 1 to 12, will remain closed today. The IMD has predicted very heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand until August 3, 2024.

Schools Closed In Karnataka

Schools in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts of Karnataka are closed today. The district administration has announced a holiday for all anganwadis, schools, and pre-university colleges (up to 12th grade).
