Schools Closed In UP, Haryana And Other States, Check State-Wise List Here

Schools Closed Today: Schools in Haryana, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh are closed today, July 31, 2024, due to various reasons.

Schools Closed Today: Several schools in Haryana, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand are closed today, July 31, 2024, due to various reasons. In Haryana, all educational institutions will be closed today in view of Shaheed Udham Singh's martyrdom day. Meanwhile, schools in different parts of Uttar Pradesh: Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Haridwar are closed today in view of Kanwar Yatra 2024. Due to heavy rainfall and landslides, schools in various districts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Thrissur, Palakkad, Ernakulam, and Idukki will be closed today. 

Schools Closed Today: State-Wise Closure List 

Kerala: Schools and educational institutions will remain closed in 11 districts of the state which were affected due to heavy landslides. The schools and colleges will remain closed in the districts of Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Idukki, Ernakulam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Kerala today.

Haryana: The government of Haryana has declared a school holiday today for all government and private schools in view of Shaheed Udham Singh's martyrdom day. Udham Singh was sentenced to death on July 31, 1940. Thus, 31 July is observed as the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh in Punjab and Haryana.

Uttar Pradesh: The schools will be closed in various districts in Noida, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, and Haridwar today in the view of Kanwar Yatra. "Considering the kanwar yatra and adhering to the directives issued by the district magistrate, all schools across all boards, catering to classes 1 to 12 within the district, shall abstain from conducting physical classes on July 31 and August 1,” Dharamveer Singh, district inspector of schools, Noida said.

Schools in Noida will stay shut for physical classes from July 31 to August 2, 2024, because of the Kanwar Yatra. Schools in Ghaziabad have already shifted to online classes starting Monday.

Uttarakhand: Dehradun, Nainital, and US Nagar districts have declared a holiday today. The regional meteorological centre of the India Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in seven districts of Uttarakhand for the next 48 hours. The alert warns of "Heavy to very heavy rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and very intense rain," in areas of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, and Champawat districts.
