Karnataka Govt Allows Schools, Pre-University Colleges To Reopen From Sept 21 As Per Unlock 4 Norms

Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar said on Friday that the government was awaiting the Centre's approval for resuming regular classes.

Schools reopening news:: Karnataka government has allowed schools and Pre-University colleges in the state to open from September 21. However, they are allowed to resume regular classes but students can come only to clear the queries they have related to their studies, as directed by Unlock 4 guidelines. ALSO READ | All Schools To Remain Closed For Students In Delhi Till October 5, Only Online Classes Will Continue: Directorate of Education, Delhi Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar said on Friday that the government was awaiting the Centre's approval for resuming regular classes. "From September 21, teachers of Class 9, Class 10, Class 11 and Class 12, will be present in the school to clear the doubts of the students related to their studies. It will not be like regular classes," Kumar told media persons. The State Primary and Secondary Education Minister was in Mysuru along with the District In-Charge Minister S T Somashekar to inaugurate the Central Library. Responding to the queries on the resumption of regular classes, Kumar said "Under any circumstances, regular classes will not start. We are waiting for the green signal from the Centre to resume regular classes." Hence, the enrollment procedure has been set to conclude by September end. He added that the government has passed an order wherein the private educational institutions are allowed to collect a one-time fee. Officials will take needful action if complaints are received against institutions for violating the directive. Meanwhile, Delhi and Gujarat are among the states where schools will remain closed taking cognisance of the Coronavirus spread in the states. All schools will remain closed for students in Delhi till October 5, 2020, the Directorate of Education, Delhi announced on Friday, amid the ongoing apprehensions about reopening of schools.
