All Schools To Remain Closed For Students In Delhi Till October 5, Only Online Classes Will Continue

All schools will remain closed for students in Delhi till October 5, 2020. Online classes & teaching-learning activities will continue as usual.

Delhi schools reopening news: All schools will remain closed for students in Delhi till October 5, 2020, Directorate of Education, Delhi announced on Friday, amid the ongoing apprehensions about reopening of schools. It has however said that  online classes & teaching-learning activities will continue as usual. The new order comes amid the growing cases of covid-19 in the national capital.  Delhi has reported more than 4000 new cases today for the third day in a row. Also Read: ICSE Compartment Exam: CISCE Begins Online Registration For ISCE And ISC Compartmental Exams The Gujarat state government has also announced its decision to not reopen schools from September 21 in view of the Coronavirus situation in the state.  On Thursday, State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama revealed that the government reached the decision " in the interest of students" during a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in Gandhinagar. Also Read: JEE Advanced 2020: Just A Few Hours Until Candidates Can Submit The Fee For JEE Advanced; Check Important Dates Two weeks ago, the Delhi government had said all schools will continue to remain closed in the national capital till September 30 and students of classes 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools in the areas outside containment zones from September 21 only on a voluntary basis for taking guidance from their teachers.  A circular issued by Delhi government said that online classes and teaching-learning activities for students will continue as usual. It had said that students shall not be called to schools for any kind of activity till September 20 keeping in view, the spread of COVID-19. However, students of classes 9 to 12 may be permitted to visit their schools, in areas outside the containment zones only, on voluntary basis for taking guidance for their teachers. This was to be subjected to the written consent of their parents/guardians and will be permitted with effect from September 21 for which schools will be required to follow SOP which will be issued by the Health Ministry. The new order however states that all schools in national capital will remain shut till October 5.
