NTA Warns NEET 2020 Candidates: Fake Representatives Are Falsely Promising Medical Seats Using Unfair Means

NTA stated there are "unscrupulous elements" posing as NTA staff/representatives claiming that they can arrange admission to a desired medical college by manipulating the OMR sheets of the NEET 2020 aspirants.

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has warned the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) candidates to be cautious of fake representatives giving false promises of arranging admission in medical colleges through unscrupulous ways. The admission to medical colleges happens only on the basis of the NEET scores. ALSO READ | Key Points From UGC's Revised Guidelines For Universities; New Academic Session Begins From Nov 1 Amid Covid-19 According to a statement issued by NTA, there are some "unscrupulous elements" posing as NTA staff/representatives who are claiming that they can arrange admission to a desired medical college by manipulating the OMR sheets of the NEET 2020 aspirants. NTA clarified that the agency’s role is limited to inviting the online application, conducting the entrance tests, declaring the NEET results and providing the All India Rank to the organisations associated. NTA has no role in the process of admission in any colleges, it clarified. 1601126970928 The statement further informs that the agency does not have access to the phone numbers or email addresses of the candidates and hence there is no actual possibility of a real official contacting students. "Candidates/ parents are advised not to be misled and should rather register a formal complaint with the local police against such unscrupulous elements and immediately inform NTA (grievance@nta.ac.in) also, if and when approached by anyone facilitating admission through unfair means,” the NTA statement reads. NTA has also informed that the agency has lodged a complaint with local police in the incidents reported, urging others to do the same when such elements are spotted.
