NEST 2023: Application Process To Begin From Feb 27, Exam In June - See Details

NISER has released the timeline for the NEST 2023 Exam. Application process to begin online from February 27, on nestexam.in, exam to be held on June 24, 2023. Read below for more details.

The National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar has announced the NEST 2023 Exam Dates and Application Timeline. The premier Scientific research institution made the announcement through the official NEST website.

The NEST 2023 Information Bulletin has also been released on the official website. Once the NEST 2023 Registration Window opens on February 27, interested and eligible candidates will be able to submit their NEST 2023 registration cum application forms on the official NEST website - nestexam.in. The NEST 2023 Application Fee is Rs 1,200 for general and OBC candidates, and Rs 600 for SC/ST/Divyangjan, and female candidates. 

As per the official NEST 2023 Information Bulletin, the NISER will open the NEST 2023 Registration Window on February 27. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply for NEST 2023 Exam till May 17, 2023. Moreover, registered candidates will be able to download their NEST 2023 Admit Cards from June 12, 2023.

NEST 2023 Exam: Scheme of Examination

As per the official announcement, the NEST 2023 Exam has been scheduled to be conducted on June 24, 2023, while the NEST 2023 Result is slated to be released on July 10, 2023. The NEST 2023 Exam will be conducted in the online CBT (Computer Based Test) mode in two sessions: 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and 02:30 PM to 06:00 PM. The NEST 2023 Exam will be held at exam centres across 122 cities throughout the country. 

The NEST 2023 Exam will have a total of four sections: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology, with each section carrying 50 marks. However, the final merit list of shortlisted candidates will be prepared based on the scores of the best three sections attempted by each candidate. The section in which a candidate scores the lowest marks will be discarded. Moreover, a correct answer will be rewarded with 2.5 marks, while incorrect answers will attract a penalty of -1. About NEST 2023 Exam

The NEST Exam is a national-level entrance exam for admissions into 5-year Integrated M.Sc programmes in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics at the National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar, and University of Mumbai – Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM–DAE CEBS), Mumbai.

Candidates who join these integrated M.Sc programmes through the NISER NEST screening test at the aforementioned institutes receive an annual scholarship of Rs 60,000, under the DISHA program of the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. An additional grant of Rs 20,000 is also awarded to these students per annum for summer internships.
