Kota Coaching Institute Booked For Abetment Of Suicide After JEE Aspirant's Death
Bhadur Singh's brother has accused that depressed by the harassment and suspension from the institute, his brother ended his life.
Police have booked a coaching institute in Kota for abetment of suicide of an IIT-JEE aspirant who was studying at the institute and allegedly hanged himself in his hostel room, news agency PTI reported some officials as saying. As per the police, 17-year-old Bhadur Singh from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, purportedly died on Friday, July 7, in his hostel room in Mahaveer Nagar-II, and his body was recovered on Sunday morning, along with a suicide note. He was preparing for IIT-JEE in the coaching institute in Kota for the past two months. Bhadur’s brother Jai Bhim Singh has accused the coaching institute for harassing and suspending the 17-year-old IIT-JEE aspirant which eventually forced him to end his life.
In his complaint, Jai Bhim has said that the coaching institute suspended Bhadur which led him to depression and distress eventually culminating in his loss of life, circle officer DSP Harshraj Singh was reported as saying. Jai Bhim further alleged that the coaching institution did not revoke his brother’s suspension despite Bhadur’s multiple apologies.

The police filed a complaint against the authorities of the coaching institute on Sunday, July 9, for abetment to suicide under section 306 of the IPC, and started further investigations, Mahaveer Nagar police station circle inspector Paramjeet Singh was reported as saying by PTI. Earlier though, the police lodged a complaint under section 174 of the CrPC to find out the reason of death. While the complaint does not mention the institute’s name, it does mention its location near City Mall in Vigyan Nagar, the DSP said.
Following Bhadur’s suicide, his scuffle with a boy from another copaching institute has also been surfacing. However, in his suicide note though, Bhadur underlined his battle with a severe skin deisease and how he has been deeply distressed with it, circle inspector Paramjeet Patel said. The boy did not mention harassment by coaching institute in his suicide note, he added. Bhadur death is puported to be the 15th suicide case in Kota this year. Even last year, an equal number of students studying in Kota dies by suicide.
