Karnataka Class 10 Exam 2021: Karnataka High Court Dismisses Plea Seeking Cancellation Of SSLC Exams

Karnataka Class 10 Exam 2021: A bench led by Justices BV Nagarathna and Hanchate Sanjeevkumar was hearing the petition filed by SV Singre Gowda.

Karnataka Class 10 Exam 2021: The Karnataka High Court on Monday dismissed the plea seeking the cancelation of the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Class 10 board examination 2021 in view of the covid-19 pandemic. A bench led by Justices BV Nagarathna and Hanchate Sanjeevkumar was hearing the petition filed by SV Singre Gowda.

Advocate General, appearing for the state, stated that there will be sitting arrangements in a classroom for only 12 students as per the covid-19 protocols. "One desk for one student. There will be social distancing, health screening, 2 paramedical staff," the AG further said.

"Court is not inclined to interfere in the matter. We find that State has taken care to conduct exams by issuing SOP in form of a circular to be complied with by all students, teachers, and all stakeholders. Petitioner is not able to point out how State conducting exam is arbitrary. Hence, we do not find any merit in the petition. Hence, the petition is dismissed," the Court directed.

Earlier, the Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board (KSEEB) had announced the dates for the Karnataka Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or class 10 board examination 2021. The Karnataka SSLC or class 10 board examination 2021 is scheduled to be conducted from July 19-22, 2021, at various centers spread across the state.

The Karnataka class 10 board examination will be conducted only for two days. On July 19, the examination will be held for the core subjects Maths, Science, and Social Science, while on July 22, the examination will be held for languages. The Karnataka SSLC examination is scheduled to be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. This year, more than 8,73,581 students have registered to appear for the Karnataka SSLC examination.

According to the SOP, the examination hall including furniture, and toilets should be sanitized daily by spraying disinfectant solution before and after the examination.  In order to maintain the social distancing, only 12 students will be there in a single exam hall, and for each student, a desk will be allotted.
