Jharkhand NMMS Scholarship 2023: Exam Postponed, Revised Dates Likely Soon On jac.jharkhand.gov.in
As per the earlier schedule, the Jharkhand NMMS Scholarship Exam 2023 was scheduled to be held on December 17, 2023.
The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has postponed the exam for the Jharkhand NMMS (National Merit cum Means Scholarship) 2023. With the postponement of the scholarship exam, the JAC is likely to announce the revised dates for the exam soon on its official website - jac.jharkhand.gov.in. As per the previous schedule, the Jharkhand NMMS Exam was scheduled to be held on December 17, 2023.
The JAC notified the postponement of the scholarship exam date through a notice on its official website. “The National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) exam 2023 scheduled for December 17 has been postponed due to indispensable reasons. The revised exam dates will be announced in due course of time", reads the official JAC notice in this regard.
Similar to NMMS Scholarships offered by several other states, the Jharkhand NMMS Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students of Class 9. The scholarship aims to provide a financial of Rs 12,000 per annum to shortlisted students. The scholarship will be provided to shortlisted students till Class 12.
Earlier, the Jharkhand Academic Council invited applications for the Jharkhand NMMS Scholarship 2023 till November 17, 2023. Those studying in Class 8 were eligible to apply for the scholarship. However, those students who are studying in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools and private schools were not eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Candidates who scored a minimum of 55% only in Class 7 were eligible to apply for the scholarship. Importantly, only those candidates with annual family income less than 3.5 lakh were only eligible to apply.
