India To Be Among Top Three Economies Of World By 2027: Rajnath Singh At GNS University Convocation

Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of youth in driving progress and achieving the nation's goals.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday urged the young minds of the country to contribute with new ideas and innovations to assist the government in transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rajnath Singh emphasized the importance of youth in driving progress and achieving the nation's goals during the convocation ceremony of Gopal Narayan Singh University in Rohtas district of Bihar, as reported by news agency ANI.

Rajnath Singh expressed his belief that India has entered a golden age and is progressing rapidly towards becoming a developed nation by the end of 'Amrit Kaal' in 2047.

"India's economy has grown at a tremendous level. India has joined the top 5 economies of the world. According to Morgan Stanley report, India will be counted among the top 3 economies of the world by 2027," Rajnath Singh said.

He also emphasized the tremendous growth of the start-up ecosystem in the country, highlighting the significant increase in the number of start-ups today. Rajnath Singh pointed out that there are now nearly one lakh start-ups, including over 100 unicorns, compared to only 500 around seven to eight years ago.

"The youth has the potential and capability to take the nation to greater heights and contribute to the betterment of humanity," he said.

Rajnath Singh also emphasized the importance of students connecting with the country's cultures, values, and traditions alongside their pursuit of education and knowledge. He highlighted that these values not only define the individual but also represent their parents, teachers, and the nation. The Defence Minister encouraged students to prioritize character development, emphasizing that in India, a person's worth is not solely determined by their knowledge, but also by their values, behavior, and how effectively they utilize their skills. He cautioned against ego, overconfidence, and self-centered attitudes as obstacles to personal growth, stressing the need to progress collectively and inclusively.
