India International Science Festival 2022 To Be Held In Bhopal In January 2023: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that the IISF is a festival to celebrate the achievements of India’s scientific and technological advancements.

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has said that the India International Science Science Festival in Bhopal in January 2023. 

Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, the Union Minister also asserted the significance of the IISF 2022, considering the fact that it would be the first major event to be held after India’s G-20 presidency. Underlining Modi government’s emphasis on ‘ease of living’ for the common man by integrating scientific breakthroughs and applications from labs to households, Dr Jitendra Singh encouraged and called upon Agritech Startups and Startups to explore new horizons and innovations with Indian signature.

Highlighting the significance of the IISF, he further said that the IISF is a platform that showcases India’s scientific and technological advancements, achievements and potential. The festival brings together scientific fraternity, students, innovators, craftsmen, farmers, and technocrats from India and abroad, facilitating mutual exchanges of ideas and innovations for the wellbeing of India and humanity, he added. He also insisted on setting up a “Mentors Desk” at the festival to help and guide attending students and parents through innovative initiatives. 

Dr Jitendra Singh said that the IISF 2022 will be a four-day long festival marked by 14 events and over 8,000 delegates from across the country, and an expected visitor footfall of over lakhs. The India International Science Festival (IISF) 2022 will be held in Bhopal from January 21 to 24, 2023. The IISF is the initiative of the Ministry of Science & Technology and Ministry of Earth Science of the Government of India in association with Vijnana Bharati, a science movement with swadeshi spirit led by eminent scientists of the country.

Emphasizing the evolution of the IISF over the years with regard to its innovative design of programs and activities, growth in attendees and visitors from India and abroad, Dr Jitendra Singh said that ‘the participation of Department of Space (DOS) and the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) in supporting the IISF 2022 is an added attraction this year.” Shri Om Prakash Saklecha, MSME and Science and Technology Minister from Madhya Pradesh also addressed the conference and promised to set up a Science Colony in Bhopal during the Science Festival, and called for the display of smart and knowledge toys at the IISF 2022.
