IAS Success Story: Three-Time Failure In UPSC Exam Secures 11th Rank In Fourth Attempt

Pujya Priyadarshini had made up her mind to leave UPSC after continuous failures, but her family supported her in these difficult times.

Success Story Of IAS Topper Pujya Priyadarshini: It is said that if your support system is strong when the going gets tough, you can never fail. The story of Pujya Priyadarshini, who became an IAS officer, securing an All-India Rank 11 in the 2018 UPSC exam, is quite inspiring. She had failed thrice after which she had decided to end this journey. However, with the support of her family, she made another effort. This time, her luck shone bright and she fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer. 

She Completed Her Post Graduation from New York
Pujya Priyadarshini got a master's degree in Public Administration from Columbia University in New York after completing her B.Com from Delhi. Post this, she worked for a company for about 2 years. In the meanwhile, she continued preparing for UPSC.

Learn Her UPSC Success Story 
Pujya Priyadarshini took the UPSC Civil Services exam for the first time in 2013, but she failed. She then took a gap of 3 years to prepare better and made a second attempt in 2016. This time, she reached the interview round, but her name did not figure in the final list. Instead of getting disappointed, she made up her mind to try again.

Disappointment enveloped her after coming so close to succeeding and yet failing the pre-exam in 2017. After this, she decided to stop trying for UPSC. During this difficult time, her family supported her and persuaded her to give it another shot. This time, the strategy worked and she tasted success.

Pujya Priyadarshini's Expert  Advice to Other Candidates
Pujya Priyadarshini advises candidates preparing for the UPSC exam to work hard and be patient. She believes that you should prepare very well for the exam. And even if you fail, there is no need to panic. Rectify your mistakes and try again. If you prepare for UPSC by putting in the required hard work and dedication, you will definitely succeed.
