DU Reopening: 3rd Year Students May Join First, High-Level Meeting To Discuss Restarting Of Varsity Today

DU Reopening: The Delhi University (DU) will be conducting a high-level meeting on Wednesday, September 1, 2021.

Delhi University Reopening: The Delhi Government has given its approval for the reopening of the schools and colleges in the national capital. In this regard, Delhi University (DU) will be conducting a high-level meeting on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. The varsity has decided to consider all the factors before announcing its decision regarding the reopening of the varsity.

"We're holding a high-level meeting today, we want to reopen soon, but we don't want to take a decision in haste. That might adversely affect students. I think we'll first allow 3rd yr students & further extend it when it works out well," PC Joshi, Delhi University Vice-Chancellor, was quoted by ANI in its tweet.

"I welcome the DDMA advisory, it has helped us in re-opening the University in a phased manner. Delhi University has students not only from Delhi but across the country & even from outside. We'll have to contemplate that how will they be included," PC Joshi further added.

Despite the Delhi government's nod on the reopening of the campus, the central varsities such as Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Milia Islamia have not yet decided whether to reopen the campus for the physical classes or not.

As per the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) directives, the schools across Delhi has been reopened for classes 9 to 12 from today. However, schools for classes 6 to 8 will re-open from September 8, 2021, onwards. The schools have been directed to conduct physical classes with 50% capacity.
