New Delhi: Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the online application for the main examinations 2021 for private candidates from Class 10 and Class 12. It has also revealed the criteria for application.  The different categories under which candidates can apply for exams include: Compartment Category: Applicable to those candidates who could not pass in the main examination held in March and want to appear only in compartment subject in the coming examination. Applicable for class 12th candidates. Candidates have to give details of the previous main examination for applying. Failures: The failures category is for those who could not pass in the Main examination as well as in subsequent compartment chances. Candidates have to give details of the main (March) examination for applying and must select at least 5 subjects. Candidates placed in the compartment category in the previous main exam can also apply in this category, however, in case they have to appear in all selected subjects and will be treated as full subject failures. Improvement: Candidates who passed the main examination held in March (immediate previous main examination) and want to improve their performance can apply under this category. They also need to give details of the previous main examination for applying. Candidates can select the varying subject(s) for improvement. Additional Subject: Candidates who passed the main examination held in March and want to study additional subjects (except for those subjects already passed). They need to give previous main examination details in which they passed for applying. They can select any non-practical subjects excluding those already passed. Female/PwD: It is applicable to women or PwD candidate who is a bonafide resident of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Candidates can select non-practical subjects. Steps To Follow

• Go to the official website of CBSE: https://cbse.nic.in/newsite/index.html.
• Click on the link that reads 'SUBMISSION OF EXAMINATION FORMS BY PRIVATE CANDIDATES FOR EXAMINATIONS - 2021 | CLASS - X | CLASS - XII' under the tab titled 'Recent Announcements'.
• A new portal will appear on the screen, click on continue.
• Select the relevant category for examination.
• Select which Class: either 10th or 12.
• The online form will appear - fill in all the details like name, parents' name, gender, address, subjects, contact information, etc.
• Provide details for the 'Upload Photo and Sign image' tab.
• Continue with Fee Payment online. Important note:  In case of any network failure due to which your application payment status is not updated but the amount is debited from your account, Do Not Try Paying Fee Again.
• Check the payment status and visit the confirmation page to review your application.
