No Relief In Sight: Delhi Sizzles At 44.6°C As Heatwave Triggers 'Orange' Alert For Next 3 Days

There was no relief from the intense heat in Delhi on Saturday as the maximum temperature reached 44.6 degrees Celcius, six degrees above the seasonal average, news agency PTI reported citing officials. The report said that weather stations in Aya Nagar and Palam recorded temperatures of 46 degrees Celsius and 45 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an "orange" alert for the next three days, indicating the need for preparedness. The maximum and minimum temperatures were predicted to hover around 45 and 32 degrees Celsius.

Scorching Heat Sweeps Haryana, Punjab
In Punjab and Haraya, there was no respite from the ongoing heatwave on Saturday. Abohar in Fazilka district recorded a maximum temperature of 47.1 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, also experienced sweltering heat, with the maximum temperature reaching 43.8 degrees Celcius, the MeT Department reported.
In Punjab, Gurdaspur saw intense heat with a maximum of 46.5 degrees Celsius. Other cities such as Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, and Pathankot recorded highs of 44.4, 44.3, 45.1, and 45.1 degrees Celcius, respectively.
In Haryana, Nuh recorded a maximum of 46.5 degrees Celsius. Rohtak and Sirsa also experienced hot weather, with maximum temperatures of 45.3 and 45.4 degrees Celsius.
Other places in Haraya, including Ambala, Hisar, and Karnal, recorded maximum temperatures of 44.6, 44.7, and 43.5 degrees Celsius. Gurugram and Faridabad recorded maximum temperatures of 44.1 and 46 degrees Celsius, respectively.
