WATCH: Massive Traffic Snarl On Delhi-Jaipur Expressway After Rain Lashes National Capital

According to an IMD official, Delhi would witness cloudy sky and there is a possibility of moderate rain and thundershowers on Saturday.

New Delhi: Massive traffic snarl was witnessed on Delhi-Jaipur Expressway near IFFCO Chowk after light to moderate rainfall in the national capital on Friday, news agency ANI reported. A video posted by the news agency showed a sea of vehicle lights and hundreds of cars stuck. 

A similar traffic congestion was seen in the route from Rajiv Chowk in Gurugram to Delhi border.

According to reports, the Noida-Delhi Kalindi Kunj border also reported traffic snarl with vehicles moving at a snail's pace. Some commuters even had to cross the bridge over Yamuna in half an hour as compared to five minutes on other days.

Meanwhile, parts of Delhi received light to moderate rainfall earlier in the evening, with the maximum temperature in the city settling at 34.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

According to the weather office forecast, the national capital is likely to witness light to moderate rain on Saturday as well.

According to a PTI report, Civil Lines, Laxmi Nagar and Lajpat Nagar received rainfall and parts of the city, including Jasola and Okhla, saw overcast skies on Friday. The humidity level hovered around 90 to 72 per cent.

Notably, the weather office has predicted a generally cloudy sky and moderate rain in the city on Saturday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle around 34 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.

According to an IMD official, there would be a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of moderate rain and thundershowers in the city on Saturday.
