Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday met with AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, who was granted interim bail by the Supreme Court earlier in the day. Soon after the decision came, Mann set off for the national capital and arrived at the Tihar jail. The move has enabled Kejriwal to campaign in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. In a show of solidarity, Mann had thanked the apex court and said that the Aam Aadmi Party’s commitment to safeguard democracy would intensify now.
“Thanks to the Supreme Court... now we will fight the battle to save democracy with more intensity... Arvind Kejriwal is not a person but a thought...and now will take this thought forward with greater momentum,” Mann said in an X post.
The Supreme Court’s decision offers temporary relief to Kejriwal, who faced charges related to a money laundering case associated with the alleged excise policy scam. While the interim bail allows him to continue campaigning, he is required to surrender and return to jail on June 2.
The case pertains to allegations of corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government’s now-defunct excise policy for 2021-22.

Grateful to the judiciary for upholding justice. Arvind Ji's presence among us will give all of us energy and vigour to fight and win,” he said in an X post.
The news of Kejriwal’s interim bail brought joy to party workers, according to a report by PTI, Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court. “Millions of prayers have been answered. I thank the Supreme Court,” he said.
