Thunderstorms with moderate rain pelted areas of Delhi on Thursday, including Patel Nagar, Rajiv Chowk, Safdarjung, and Lodhi Road, news agency PTI reported.

According to the meteorological service, President House, India Gate, Delhi Cantonment, and Budha Jayanti Park all experienced light showers.

The meteorological service cautioned that rain combined with high gusts might cause partial damage to susceptible structures.

According to an India Meteorological Department (IMD) report, the minimum temperature in the national capital on Thursday was 17.8 degrees Celsius.

The high temperature is forecast to be approximately 32 degrees Celsius.

According to statistics from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the total Air Quality Index (AQI) at 4 p.m. was 170, which is considered moderate.

An AQI of zero to 50 is deemed "good," 51 to 100 "satisfactory," 101 to 200 "moderate," 201 to 300 "poor," 301 to 400 "very poor," and 401 to 500 "severe."

According to the IMD report, the relative humidity was 70% at 8.30 a.m.

Rain in Delhi and adjacent regions is expected to continue as the Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall in the next two days over north-west India including western Himalayan region.

“Yesterday’s rain was due to a western disturbance. In the coming 2 days, in the whole north-west India including western Himalaya region, there is possibility of rainfall, thunderstorm & hailstorm,” an IMD scientist told news agency ANI.

The official also said that there was no possibility of heatwave as of now and that the temperatures across the country are normal.
