Delhi Weather Forecast: IMD Says Despite Strong Surface Winds National Capital To Witness 42 Deg C Tomorrow

The weather service has forecast strong surface winds on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 42 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The India Meteorological Department reported on Saturday (May 20) that the maximum temperature in the national capital was 40.4 degrees Celsius, which is normal for the season. According to IMD, the city's minimum temperature was 23.2 degrees Celsius, three degrees below the season's average. The relative humidity level fluctuated between 52 per cent and 28 per cent.

The weather service has forecast strong surface winds on Sunday. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 42 and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively.

According to Central Pollution Control Board data, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was in the 'moderate' category at 7 PM, with a reading of 181.

An AQI of zero to 50 is considered "good," 51 to 100 "satisfactory," 101 to 200 "moderate," 201 to 300 "poor," 301 to 400 "very poor," and 401 to 500 "severe".

IMD ISSUES HEATWAVE WARNINGS FOR SEVEN STATES:

The weather service has also issued a heatwave warning for several regions across the country, including parts of the national capital and its surrounding areas.

The Delhi-NCR region, which has recently seen light rain to relieve the scorching heat, will see no rain for the next few days and will continue to sweat under the sun. Strong winds may blow between May 19 and 24, providing residents with some relief from the heat.

The temperature will rise by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday. A heatwave warning has also been issued for seven states: Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.

"There is a strong possibility of isolated pockets of heatwave conditions over Uttar Pradesh and Gangetic areas of West Bengal from May 20-22, in Jharkhand from May 21-23, in south Haryana, west Rajasthan, and Chattisgarh from May 21-22, and in north Madhya Pradesh on May 21," the weather department said in its bulletin.

The maximum temperature in Delhi on Friday was 38.2 degrees Celsius, according to IMD. According to the IMD, the city's minimum temperature was 24.4 degrees Celsius. According to the report, humidity levels ranged between 78% and 25%.
