Kejriwal Said Accused Vijay Nair Reported To Delhi Ministers Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj: ED Claims

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that Vijay Nair used to report to Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj, claimed ED in Rouse Avenue Court today.

The Enforcement Directorate on Monday claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that one of the accused in the money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped excise policy case in Delhi, Vijay Nair used to report to his cabinet ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Appearing for the central agency at Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Monday, Solicitor General (ASG) SV Raju made the submission that Vijay Nair had close ties with Kejriwal and that during the questioning the Aam Aadmi Party national convener said that Nair did not report to him but to Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Nair was the chief of AAP's media communication cell and is one of the accused in the case.

Arvind Kejriwal, who was arrested by the ED in the money laundering case on March 21 was produced before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja on Monday at the end of his remand. After the hearing, the Delhi CM was remanded to judicial custody till April 15 after the federal agency sought the 15-day judicial custody citing Kejriwal's "non-cooperative behaviour" during the investigations.

"Kejriwal's conduct has been non cooperative and he is giving evasive replies," said the ED, adding that it may require further custody in future.

Submissions Made By ED In Court

In its copy of the demand for judicial custody, the ED made the following claims:

Arvind Kejriwal confessed during interrogation that Vijay Nair used to report to Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj.

Nair has confessed that he was making excise policy while staying in the residence of a cabinet minister. He used to work from CM Camp office. On this, Kejriwal is giving a vague answer saying that he does not have direct information about who works in the camp office.

Nair was not an ordinary worker of the AAP party but the head of the entire media communication cell. Kejriwal received many WhatsApp chats from Nair. This shows that Nair has been close to Kejriwal.

The Delhi CM was shown the details of about ten meetings of Nair with other accused like Abhishek Boinpillai, Dinesh Arora and other liquor businessmen. It was asked that on whose instructions Nair was holding a meeting with these liquor traders and accused regarding the implementation of the new liquor policy, but Kejriwal said that he was not aware of this either.
