Haryana: Sarpanch Sanjay Duhan Shot Dead In Hisar Over Suspected 'Rivalry', Probe On

On Sunday evening, Sarpanch Sanjay Duhan was attacked by assailants who fired several bullets at him.

In a startling incident that took place at Kanwari village in Haryana's Hisar district, Sarpanch Sanjay Duhan was fatally shot by unknown attackers. The incident occurred on a typical Sunday evening as Duhan was en route to attend a function.

On Sunday evening, Duhan was attacked by assailants who fired several bullets at him. Despite his family's swift attempt to rush him to a hospital, he was declared deceased upon arrival. This incident occurred just a year after Karan Singh, the son of the former Sarpanch, was subjected to a similar attack. In that case, the police had also registered a case against Sanjay's family. Speaking about the rivalry, BJP MLA Vinod Bhayana stated: "It's an unfortunate incident. There has been some minor rivalry ongoing in the village. At this point, I can't provide much information, but I believe it's a result of some rivalry. I've just arrived here, and the police will be investigating the matter. I believe the details will be revealed soon once the investigation is complete."

The police has launched an inquiry into the continuing conflict between Sanjay Duhan and the previous Sarpanch.

The incident has even raised question on police as they ignored the repetitive demand for security raised by the late Sarpanch Sanjay Duhan.
