Bengaluru Woman Gets Delivery Call For Order She Didn't Place. A New Scam?
A woman received a call from a food delivery partner regarding an order she didn't place, and asked him to leave at the door. But doesn't find it.

In a suspected scam, a woman in Bengaluru received a call from someone who claimed to be from Swiggy driver. As she wasn’t home, she asked the person to leave it at the door, but when she returned home, she found no parcel.
According to a Reddit user, Subject-Fisherman-90, posted on ‘r/bangalore’ community with the title ‘A strange incident happened in Bengaluru.’ In the post he described the incident, seeking other Redditors' help.

He recounted how his girlfriend received a call about a delivery she hadn't ordered. Since she wasn’t home at the time, she asked the supposed delivery driver to leave the package at her door.
"Today in the afternoon my girlfriend got a call from a person saying he was calling from Swiggy, he had her parcel with my name and asked to open the door," the user wrote on Reddit.
The man further explained, that his girlfriend lived in a society with security systems installed and always received notifications to let people in and only once she confirmed people could get into the society. But she wasn't at home she had asked the 'Swiggy Delivery' person to keep it at the door.
He further wrote that, “Strange thing is I didn’t place any order for her also none of my delivery accounts has her address saved with my name. She checked for similar things in her accounts and also asked around if anyone placed any order but no one did."
Replying to the Reddit post, a user said, "It's a standard scam don't worry. I have read multiple similar scam stories with slight variations. Parcel would be cash on delivery. Your gf would have paid money and there would be some cheap food items or empty box."

Another wrote, “A gated society doesn’t mean fool proof security. Security lapses happen. It is very much possible that this person can be stalking your gf. May have delivered an earlier order and after the app confirmation, she may have followed up using the guy’s personal number. May have some other delivery and used this opportunity to capitalise on the situation. I would suggest use the number and check with security. Also find a trail of if he has ever delivered to your gf’s home, cctv footage and then raising a complaint with both service provider and police. You can ask her to install a door ringer camera for additional security”.
