Vrindavan Prem Mandir Founder Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj's Daughter Dies In Road Crash On Yamuna Expressway
While Vishakha Tripathi used to look after the ashram in Pratapgarh, her sisters were taking care of temples in Vrindavan and Barsana.
Spiritual leader and the founder of Vrindavan's Prem Mandir Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj's eldest daughter Vishakha Tripathi died in a road accident on the Yamuna Expressway in Noida on Sunday. Tripathi, aged 75, was travelling to Delhi from Vrindavan via Yamuna Expressway along with her two younger sisters and five others. All of them were travelling in two cars and were scheduled to travel to Singapore from Delhi, PTI reported quoting police.
A canter driver hit both cars in the Dankaur area on Sunday morning, injuring eight people including Maharaj's three daughters, a police spokesperson said. They were admitted to hospitals in Noida and Delhi for treatment where Tripathi died. Her sisters, Krishna Tripathi and Shyama Tripathi, were admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi and are said to be critical, police spokesperson said.
The police have sent the body for post-mortem. Her body was brought to Prem Mandir in Vrindavan and kept there so that the followers could pay their tributes. Tripathi's last rites will be performed on the banks of Yamuna on Monday.
Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat in a condolence message said that it is with great sorrow that it has to be informed that the President of Bhakti Dham, Dr Vishakha Tripathi has unfortunately passed away. Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj and his family were residents of Mangarh (Kunda) in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. While Vishakha Tripathi used to look after the ashram in Pratapgarh, her sisters were taking care of temples in Vrindavan and Barsana.
