Uttar Pradesh: Narrow Escape For Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Nandi As Escort Vehicle Hits Tractor, 4 Injured
Two CRPF jawans have received head injuries and one has hand injuries.
A security van in the fleet of Uttar Pradesh Minister Nand Gopal Gupta "Nandi" collided with a tractor-trolley, injuring three CRPF jawans and the driver of the van on Saturday. The cabinet minister, who was right ahead of the Bolero, narrowly escaped the accident.
The accident happened near the Sant Kabir Nagar Kanti intersection in Purvanchal. Eyewitness alleged that the accident happened due to the negligence of the tractor driver. Minister Nandi admitted the injured CRPF jawans to Sri Krishna Mission Hospital in Basti district for treatment. After primary treatment, he took everyone to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.
Two CRPF jawans have received head injuries and one has hand injuries. On receiving information about the incident, Additional SP and CO City of Basti district also reached the hospital.
The minister shared details about the accident on social media. "A major accident was averted with the blessings of Mahakal Lord Bhole Nath," he wrote on Facebook.
The Industrial Development Minister was returning from the 35th Foundation Day celebrations of Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority when the car in his convoy collided with the tractor.
The accident comes days after five doctors were killed in a car crash on the Agra-Lucknow expressway. The doctors were returning from a wedding in Lucknow.
